LRT

Fort Victoria whistle stop

Yet another study has been announced, costing $1.6 million, including $500,000 of federal money, into the feasibility of LRT (light rail transit) on the E&N corridor between Langford and Vic West. Des and Benno show that this route has already been rejected by three separate studies from 1996, 2011 and 2025. The preferred route is along Douglas Street and the Trans Canada Highway. One can only hope that this waste of taxpayers money will be the final nail in the coffin, and that the corridor can be put to a much more  beneficial use as an active transportation greenway.
