Victoria is the Cycling Capital of Canada! Victoria has proved that being pro-active and building the infrastructure, despite the objections of many car drivers, has resulted in a city with by far the largest proportion of cycling commuters in Canada. It has also encouraged the senior community who are increasingly out cycling to promote good health and enjoy the benefits of the bike, especially with the boom in e-bikes.
These benefits could also happen up and down the Island if the E&N corridor was converted to a rail-trail like the Galloping Goose. Read this CBC article for more info.
